Commonwealth Edison crews on 7,700 of the approximately 8,400 customers in and around the municipalities of Streator and Dwight as tornado damage was restored Saturday night, said the usefulness of this morning.
Power lines across the region and two small sub-stations were seriously damaged and the remaining 670 customers are currently without electricity today is probably around midnight, the company said.
ComEd has used generators to customers back, but other customers in the vicinity of the areas most damaged. ComEd says it has about 100 teams in the region who have worked day and night since Saturday evening. Two Incident Command Center was set up yesterday morning in support of relief efforts. On Monday, ComEd officials informed local officials and tour the damaged area.
ComEd warns all customers should approach downed power lines and stay away from nearby trees, metal fences and structures, excited by an electric line can be. With a week of violent storms in northern Illinois, weakened branches can cause additional power lines down and fell.

All customers still without power should not assume ComEd is aware of their revision. If they have not called in their failure, they should immediately contact 800-EDISON-1.
