The Jammu-Srinagar, Kashmir with the rest of the country, today reopened for vehicular traffic.
All essential supplies to Kashmir are routed through this route, which had been closed in the last two days of heavy rains and snowfall.
The area was also by landslides about 400 vehicles stranded on the highway was taken.
Revenue, Police, Health and Consumer Protection and Public Distribution jointly carrying out relief operations in the Jawahar tunnel Ramban, Banihal Chenani, Kud and Patnitop support for stranded passengers.
GM Wadoo, Traffic Police Superintendent (Rural) said: “The road to oncoming traffic, but today has been open with restrictions.”
“Vehicles from Srinagar would be allowed to move up to 1 against the clock Jammu and since that time the vehicles of Jawahar Tunnel from Jammu to cross, vehicles will be allowed to travel after 13.00 hours, he added. (ANI)
